Here Is The African Savanna
From Kirkus Reviews
As with others in the "Here Is" series, Dunphy describes the coral reef habitat with a lyrical cumulative text. It is a delightful way for kids to learn about the inhabitants of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The interdependence of life on the reef is reinforced with each succeeding page. For example, the wrasses live off of parrotfish, which in turn eat part of the coral reef. The bright, bold
illustrations of fish, sponges, eels, and the like are depicted in each spread.
It is a spirited and informative introduction to this watery world.
Under The Sun And Moon
From Marilyn Bagel - Children's Literature
"Apple trees as pink as pie like strawberry ice cream in the sky burst on my delighted eye." And so it is that Margaret Wise Brown's imagery of the beauty and joy of nature bursts forth for young readers. Capturing the simplest of acts-flickering wings and raindrops, a reticent rabbit who'd rather sit in the sun than run, talking bugs, a sky full of cloud dreams-she leads the reader through the seasons of the year in a joyful celebration of all living things.
Tom Leonard's radiant full color paintings capture the subjects and set
the moods idyllically.
